This stone is extracted from quarries located in the foothills of the central west Hautes Piedmont, between Val Pellice and the Po Valley, in the municipalities of Luserna San Giovanni, Rora, Bagnolo Piemonte and Barge, for which it has always been an important economic resource. Its use is very old and it still characterizes different types of buildings and the urban flooring in the origin areas and in the entire Piedmont. Since the early 70’s, its circulation was both national and international.

The Luserna stone is mainly composed of layers of quartz, feldspar and mica. Thanks to its particular composition, is a material that has unique characteristics. It is resistant to thermal shock and frost unique. Even if you choose to use the format as thin as possible, it is the ideal material for the degree of resistance to usury and tear.

In any climate condition, this material preserves its natural color, having a high degree of resistance to staining. Because of its brilliant colors, which change color from grey to yellow, it is the most used for the flooring of external as blends harmoniously in most contexts, from older buildings to modern situations.
