This material is presented in separate layers of clay and of variable thickness from 2.5 to 30 cm, with reddish rosy and sometimes greyish-white shades, and with a total thickness of about 8 meters.
The most valuable type is located on the Mount Loffa. The Lessinia stone belongs to the formation of red scale and consists of pelagic sediments that were deposited during the Cretaceous period.
